“The Mother” comes from Carlile's critically acclaimed sixth studio album, “By The Way, I Forgive You” (available via Low Country Sound/Elektra), which won three awards at the 2019 GRAMMY® Awards. Carlile was the most nominated female artist at this year’s ceremony, including a nomination for Album of the Year. Produced by Dave Cobb and Shooter Jennings and recorded at Nashville’s historic RCA Studio A, the album includes 10 new songs written by Carlile and longtime collaborators and bandmates Tim and Phil Hanseroth, “The Mother” is the fourth official video released from the album, following “The Joke,” “Party of One” and “Hold Out Your Hand.”
