LOS ANGELES, April 15, 2021 (Newswire.com) - Veteran entertainment industry executive Shan Lui has been named senior vice president of talent for Kyra Media, the Gen Z media company building brands, franchises and IP for that demographic. In this new Los Angeles-based role, Lui oversees the talent division of the Kyra Media business, both for talent management and content development. With a team of four talent managers and a dynamic roster of high-profile social stars, Lui is building a world-class talent shop for the social generation.
Prior to securing the top talent position at Kyra Media, she spent five years at Superfly as vice president of creative partnerships and also served as a senior producer for the experience-based company. While at Superfly, she led creative partnerships with Warner Brothers, Sony, FX, NBCUniversal and Comedy Central in producing immersive experiences celebrating iconic television series such as Seinfeld and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. She played a pivotal role in developing and producing the hugely successful Friends Pop-Up in NYC and Boston during the show's 25th anniversary in 2019. Prior to this role, she led the digital talent programming team for the agency's influencer marketing partnerships.
Before her stint at Superfly, Lui spent 12 years as an artist manager with U2 at Principle Management NY and Dublin. She also served on the artist management team for Madonna in 2012 and has traveled extensively for album recordings, global campaign launches and three of the highest-grossing concert tours of all time -- U2's 360 and Vertigo tours and Madonna's MDNA Tour. She began her entertainment career at Miramax Films.
"The opportunity to join an exciting, multi-dimensional company such as Kyra Media is one I am absolutely thrilled to take on. I'm looking forward to taking a distinct management approach for our rapidly growing talent division -- elevating creative, discovering unique and engaging voices in the creator community, building their brands and IP and taking a strategic, 360 approach to their business," said Lui.
"Shan brings an abundance of talent management experience and we're excited for her to join the Kyra Media team as we continue building the best-in-class management relationships with talent and brands alike. Her commitment to quality storytelling -- bringing unique perspectives and creating engaging content -- aligns perfectly with Kyra Media's vision and values," added Devran Amaratunga Karaca, Kyra Media CEO.
Kyra Media's talent roster includes social stars Noen Eubanks, Nintendo Grl, Abby Roberts and Maddi Winter, as well as newly signed Benji Krol and Parii & Adi. The talent team has developed unique, talent-centric campaigns for brands such as Samsung, PopSockets and Revolution Beauty that are driving incredible engagement. Its latest project is a mini-documentary about social star Quen Blackwell with brand partner Sennheiser.
